Full description
This 2-hour walking tour of London’s shadowy streets takes you back in time, starting with the 1400s, long before an official police force patrolled the dark alleys in the city’s infamous East End. London was a city where tyrants ruled, and the weak were swallowed by death’s gaping maw.

The walk through the city’s gloom takes you through the sites of gruesome executions and crushing poverty, of overcrowding, disease, and depraved criminality. Retrace the bloody trail of the notorious Jack the Ripper's murders, get a taste for a new breed of soul harvester born of the Victorian age, and see the plague pits, the Bloody Tower, and Traitor’s Gate.

You will go to several notoriously haunted areas of the East End and discover how traitors and criminals were punished, why the Ripper was never caught, and what life was really like for people living in the East End. In a city so full of light and beauty, this walk will show you the darkness waiting around every corner.

Ladies, if you have a fantasy about meeting a cute british man and him taking you on a tour of the city, this is the event for you with Dave as your tour guide. He was perfect- informed, funny, nice, and very respectful to the stories he is telling. It’s obvious that he loves his job and I would take the tour again just to see him (and hear him talk!) He was, as he says, “jolly good!”

The guide was wonderful, really knowledgable and the rating does not reflect him at all. If it was purely on his skills it would be a 10 out of 5. He was lovely. However the one star loss is based on the tour site itself, which said the tour was wheelchair accessible and in fact it was not. The guide helped us find the most accessible routes but it meant a lot of rerouting and waiting to find drop curbs, with my partner in his chair having to drive on the road in some cases as there was no alternative. The site needs to remove the wheelchair accessible tag as unless they change the route it is not accessible and to do so is to mislead. Even the meeting point was up the steps. Thank you again to our tour guide but please please please remove the tag saying wheelchair accessible until someone has altered the route permanently, including the meeting point.
