What people are saying about Laura Plantation
Several years ago, we did the Oak Alley/Laura plantations tour. I remember it being pleasurable, but rushed. This particular outing seemed to provide ample time to both see the plantations, and wander around a bit. This was particularly important at Oak Alley, because time is needed to grab a bite for lunch. If anything, the Laura plantation tour was a little long. We could have used an extra 20 minutes to SHOP (and I'm sure the facility would have been appreciative of that as well).. But, as it worked out, the rest of our tour group was ready to go 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time (I think everyone was just tired... it's a long outing on a hot/humid day)... Trip was fun and informative... and locations were very picturesque.
My driver, Donna, was awesome! She picked me up at my hotel; she gave us guided information along bus ride; she helped us stay on time and gave us tips on how to maximize our time. Both plantations were breathtaking. Both plantations had knowledge staff and very informative guided tours. Kyle, our guide at the Laura plantation, made the stories come alive so much that I bought the book in the gift shop! Great trip! I will do this same tour again on my next trip to New Orleans! Great service, great price, great tour!
Not only was the Double plantation tour a fascinating look Into a tragic past ! Gerald our bus driver entertained us both up and back with fascinating bits of information about New Orleans !
Advertising as a half day tour is a bit deceiving. I would say the tour was less then 2 hours. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and held our attention.
The tour itself is very short , most of the time is spent on travel . It took one hour to get there and over 90 minutes to get back.
