Full description
This tour is all about you and adapted to your particular expectations and skill level, but generally you can expect a pick up from your accommodation and transport to the hiking site, Bowl of Fire. The trip to Bowl of Fire will include a drive through Lake Mead National Recreation Area where you’ll get a look at the largest man-made reservoir in the United States, as well as some of its unique geology.

The hike begins with a short (less than a mile) hike up to Bowl of Fire, most of which will be in a red sand dry creek bed in a broad, rocky canyon. This is where hikers regularly see desert bighorn sheep!

The next part is up to you: you can stay on level ground and take in the sites. You can hike up into the sandstone looking for your own routes or do some scrambling. You can find a spot for meditation, yoga or search for the perfect photo op to remember this dramatic landscape. All in all you should probably plan on a 5-hour excursion from door-to-door.
Includes
  • Transportation to and from Lake Mead National Recreation Area
  • 3-4 hour guided hike
  • Backpack
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Hiking pole, if desired
