A day out with the family - a long time in the heat

Bus transfer from/to hotel was the main reason for picking this tour, rather than buying park tickets direct and taking train(s) which would have worked out cheaper and given more flexibility over timings. Slightly odd as had to change bus in Kowloon on way out, but all seemed to work Ok otherwise. Return journey was OK with clearly detailed pick up point. Long day out - 10:15 pick up and back to hotel by 22:20. As park is quite small, rides are quite limited. Queue time (on a Friday) averaged 20-30 minutes, which was OK if in an air conditioned building but unpleasant otherwise (34 deg C air temp). Rides close about 20:00, to herd everybody to main street to watch the firework finale (21:00 - 21:15) - kind of a waste of an hour and then had another 30 minute wait until bus pick up at 21:45. Fireworks were OK, but if we had gone by train to the park and had the option of escaping early, we would have probably left long before the end as there wasn't enough to do to fill the time.

Absolutely fantastic, from start to finish!

Brilliant tour from start to finish! The cable car views were amazing! When we got to Ngong ping village, we toured around by ourselves before the tour started! The village itself was vibrant with colors and also very cheap for food and drinks! Our tour guide was moon! She was fantastic and fluent in English! She was very upbeat and made it her mission to make sure we had an amazing tour, the tea demonstration was great and it tasted lovely We then got a quick bus ride to the fishing village of tai-o! It’s amazing to see the vast difference from the city to a small fishing village and how they live! We caught a boat around the village and out to see some pink dolphins, unlucky that we didn’t get to see them nevertheless we headed back to be greeted by noon to show us a fisherman’s house! We also got to try some local food which was lovely! Finally we headed back to Ngong ping village to see the Buddha statue which was breathtaking Overall this excursion is well worth it

A taste of tranquility yet close to the hustle & bustle of Hong Kong

A great day out and a pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong and just so easy! Picked up from hotel and had short coach transfer to the pier to take the high speed ferry to Lantau. Ben, our knowledgeable and informative guide, accompanied our small group (13) and kept us all together at the various stops around the island. Plenty of time to appreciate (and photograph) the surroundings and stopped off at a nice variety of locations from beach to wandering through a fishing village, temples, buddhist shines, monastery and finishing with a long scenic cable car ride. Lunch at the monastery was very good indeed and unrushed and a good opportunity to talk to other members on the tour. Bus then returned us to our hotels to complete a full circuit at the end of the day. A perfect day out for me and my daughters (late teens) - but I wouldn't recommend it for children or young teens.

Good experience.. Cable car ride was excellent

Lantanu island is must visit for HongKong. I purchased this deal from GetYourGuide, I had taken cable car, boat ride and unlimited bus ride deal. Which was worth it. I had to skip the que while buying the tickets so that was good one but then there was a long que for entering the cable car. While returning one must take a note to avoid que, one should reserve your return cable car tour before half n hour and then you can directly enter cable car. I did this reservation (at Lantanu reservation office) and skipped the que for entering the cable car.

Excellently organised, perfect guide, well worth the money!

Very well organised trip, small group of 11, our guide Ken was very entertaining, amusing and did an excellent job. We skipped all lines at the cable car and were after lunch transported up to the Budda by bus - no need to take the 200plus stairs. Booked this trip short notice, response time from the tour operator was swift and on point. They provide the exact pick up time via email after booking and drop you off at the hotel after the tour. I definitely recommend this trip.
