Full description
Surround yourself with the scenery that inspired Beatrix Potter's enchanting children's books during a half-day tour in the Lake District National Park. The tour bus departs from Oxenholme Train Station promptly at 11:10 am. From there, you will travel to Hill Top, the 17th-century home that Beatrix Potter used as an artistic retreat. Stroll through the colorful garden, home to various flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Experience the authentic atmosphere of the garden and house which remain as they were when Beatrix Potter herself lived there. A tour of the house is available for an additional £11.80 per adult and £5.90 per child which must be booked in advance by contacting the local provider.

After touring Hill Top, you will continue to the medieval village of Hawkshead where you will have some time for independent exploring. From there, you will make the short drive to the picturesque Tarn Hows, a wilderness area which Potter herself purchased at one point in order to protect it from development.

The afternoon concludes with a cruise down England’s largest lake, Lake Windermere, offering unrivaled views of the fells (mountain-like hills).
