Full description
The Algarve has a long wine tradition dating back to the Phoenicians. The production is not abundant, but its superior quality compensates for the small output. The Douro and Alentejo regions may have world recognition, but the Algarve wine region is second to none.

During this tour you will visit two small wine estates which feature their own production. You will begin with a visit to one of the first quality-wine producing estates in the region, which was part of a new wave that started around 15 years ago. As you fall for this estate’s beautiful history and learn more about the family behind the business, you will learn more about the vineyards in the property. You'll learn about the unique grape varieties and the favorable geographical conditions responsible for this wine, and will also taste its unmistakable flavor.

Following a delicious lunch in the Silves Region, you will reach the second estate. There the old coexists with the contemporary, as tradition goes hand in hand with modernity to combine the know-how from other wine-producing regions with the unique soil and climate of the Algarve. This estate was built on the foundations of a former 12th-century convent, and you will receive outstanding views over the Arade River and the village of Silves.
