What people are saying about La Spezia
Marco was our guide- he was friendly, accommodating, and great! Even was able to pick up my grandma as she was not able to do the long walk from the ship to the boat. On the tour you will see all five villages of the Cinque Terre with photo opportunities in front of each town and short description variations from your guide of where we are. however you were only able to get off in Monterosa for one hour. By the time we walked up and found a spot for lunch we were really only left with 10 or 15 minutes of sightseeing. Only complaint was I wish there was more time to view the town. However, it was beautiful and the boat ride was great! You can do this tour if you are coming on a cruise. And communication before to confirm tour and meeting location/time is super easy via the WhatsApp app. Great for 23, 51, 65, and 77-year-old.
We had a wonderful experience sailing along the coast past Portovenere and Cinque Terre - a very quiet and gorgeous way to view the beautiful towns. Weather was great and we spent time off the coast of Monterossa swimming in the bath-like water. Manu and Fausto, the skippers, were great friendly hosts and very accommodating. We were only able to sail part of the trip due to lack of wind, but it didn't take away from the experience. We had spent the prior 9 days running all over the place and being managed by a clock, so it was wonderful to have 8 peaceful hours just hanging out on a beautiful sailboat on the Ligurian sea. Highly recommend!
We recommend this one day full expérience especially in you have only 1 day. Departure in La spezia to the Nice harbour of Venazzia, then hiking to the top to have a panoramic view on the small villages of Cinque Terre. Giuliano was our guide (english, a bit of French, only 4 people in the group). The hiking requires good shoes and could be difficult for children under 10. But Giuliano knows the trails with good view. The train ticket was usable after the tour so that we stayed longer to visit. With the tour you see 4 out of 5 (Monterosso is less typical but you can swim in sand beaches).
Reasonable free time. Would have appreciated some written information specifying the rendez-vous after each stop. Document indicating and explaining the trip start meeting point is showing wrong location on a Google map!!! This made us almost miss the bus! This makes absolutely non sense since usually using a Google pin on a map is what gives the best information you would expect!
We had a splendid time with our guide Katerina. She gave us lots of interesting information about the Chinque Terre region during the day tour - also about Milano and the region we crossed on our bus ride. All was very well organized and she really cared about us. Thank you, Katerina, for this wonderful day out at the cost.
