Full description
Start your full-day tour with a scenic drive from La Fortuna to the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Head out on a 4-hour hike that will take some effort but is definitely worth it. At the end of the hike you’ll have reached the Rio Celeste. The river’s blue color is the result of a chemical reaction between 2 merging rivers having different volcanic minerals. This rare phenomenon creates a fairy tale-like beauty. Visit a waterfall and a lookout point for great views and see the place where the river changes color. Your guide will point out local wildlife on this adventure as well. After your hike, enjoy a delicious lunch before the drive back to La Fortuna.

It was marvelous...

The guide: Reinaldo was very kind and patient , taking time to explain everything and make sure we see the most as possible. The hiking to the waterfall and to the mountain was so pleasant and the vue of the volcano was beautiful. The visit to different rivers and their stories was incredibly amazing...

Have a rain coat, because there were alternating small showers. Have long pants or leggings because a lot of mosquitoes. Good shoes and do not disturb whatever rooms after shipping. A guide can be interesting, unless you have already done guided tours. Many busy go there early.

It was good, you could not see the light blue color in full due to the rains, but visiting the waterfall was incredible and you could see monkeys. Lunch and the guide were very good.
