Delicious food in a dynamic group environment

The tour departed promptly at 1pm from Traveler’s Bar. Make sure you aren’t late (but if you are, the bartender can give directions)! Our group had just over 20 people. We moved to the market together. I wish we had spent a bit more time exploring the market; it was a quick in-and-out shopping trip without much explanation/time for pictures. I would love to know how to pick the best seafood ingredients. Once we got to the kitchen we separated into 3 tables which made the group feel smaller. They served us Sangria and tapas while they prepped the kitchen for the cooking class. Although we were a large group, everyone had an opportunity to prep or cook and it was easy to view the cooking even when you weren’t actively participating. While waiting for the paella to cook, they taught us how to prepare Sangria and we had time to chat with the other guests. The food was delicious and the company was charming. Highly recommend this experience!!!

A great introduction to tapas and pi.nchos

Olga was very knowledgeable of the history of the area we walked through. She explained the different types of ham in the Boqueria and the samples were good. I think this tour would be best earlier in the morning before so many crowds especially the Boqueria. We enjoyed our tapas stop near the Santa Caterina market, the brief tour of the market itself. My favourite stop was the Basque restaurant and the pinchos. Olga was very understanding when my two companions had to leave us due to mobility-related health issues and continued on with me explaining historical features along the way. She was helpful in assisting me in locating a bookstore. Thank you, Olga!

Barcelona: 4-Hour Private Market & Foodie Tour Reviewed by

Our cooking class with Lalo was phenomenal .

The class started with a tour through the market place where Layla explained about the foods at several market stalls. Explained the curing of meat and how to choose numerous items. Back at class he taught us several new techniques as we helped prepare our evening meal. He was very organized and easy to understand. This was a memorable part of our trip to Barcelona.

Personal Informative and Soooo Much Fun!

This tour was so much fun. We went shopping and tasting in two different markets . We then went with Chef Alex to his cooking school. We made appetizers, seafood paella and dessert. Lots of wine to drink all afternoon. Fabulous experience! Our one complaint would be that the meeting place was hard to find.

Really enjoyable experience with the chef and the rest of the team.

I enjoyed this trip - looking around the local market, insights about the different produce available and working with the rest of the tour group to create such a delicious paella. The sangria class was fun as well and our group of 20 got on really well.
