Our guide, Ian, was great. Knowledgeable, humorous and got the job done. This was a whistle stop tour of the Sedlec Ossuary & St. Barbara’s Church, Kutna Hora. Started 10am, quick intro then a long walk to meet the bus. First stop - the Bone Chapel - very interesting but only 15 minutes for photos & looking round. Quick chat in the cemetery then back to the bus for the short trip to St. Barbara’s Church. Beautiful building, fantastic alter, ceiling & chapels, magnificent stained glass windows but, if you listen to your guide’s commentary, no time at all to wander freely / take photos. Then it was off to a reasonably priced restaurant for lunch (not included in cost of tour). Stayed there for much longer than at either of the main attractions of the tour! Couple more short stops then back on the coach for return journey. Pros: Great guide. Cons: Too short, little free time, Almost half the tour was spent at lunch (recurring theme in Sandemans reviews), big group (30+)
Our tour was very well organized and the instructions for the meeting point where very clear. Our guide, Ryan, was amazingly enthusiastic and his English was very good. He was very inspirering and well informed about the bone chapel and the St Barberachurch and also about Kutna Hora, the town, itself. On top of the price on Getyourguide, we also needed to pay for your food, which was not expensive and was very delicious (where you could choose typical Czech meal), but it was not mentioned on the getyourguide site. It would be better if they mentioned that on the site.
We had a fantastic guide (David - USA) who gave us lots of info on the way there and the background of the places. He even pointed out what to look out for and shared his personal views. Although the bone church was still covered by the excavation, we had enough time to explore and took lots of pictures. We did a walking tour of Kutna Hora and it was beautiful. Still as good as when I went 4 years ago. Guide share a restaurant with us and the food was good and the price was reasonable. Most of all was the local beer, fantastically good.
Our tour guide (American) David made this a very enjoyable tour. He gave us both historical and myth related stories which were very interesting. Kutna Hora is well worth the visit and lunch was great with a very varied menu. The day pasted quickly and all sites visited were interesting with the bone chapel being the tour highlight.
Matt - our tour guide - was amazing. Funny and informative stories and information about Kutna Hora and the Bone Chapel. It was all very good organized from transfer to lunch etc. The only critic is that 20 Minutes for the Bone Chapel and also 20 Minutes in the Chathedral are a bit short. 30 Minutes would be better.
