The process was a bit chaotic once we arrived, especially since Auschwitz was completely packed with large tour groups, and we also felt rushed at Birkenau (you get an hour and 15-20 minutes) to see 400 acres. I hardly had a chance to soak it all in. I missed seeing a few of the points on the map (and with the time allotted it's really just a look and move on type deal ). I personally like to take in as much as possible, reminisce with the past. Our guide, who was on the bus was very helpful and told us history to and from each location, which I loved (regardless of the trashy, drunk and loud people - who were on the bus drinking apple juice and vodka - and made it difficult to hear). Other than that, there is hardly a place like this I've ever visited. It bleeds with history and it's hard to fathom the events that took place only 75 years ago. With this package you get taken to Auschwitz for about 2 - 2 1/2 hrs and then Birkenau for 1 1/2 hrs. No tour. Just walk around on your own

We wanted a self guided tour so we could go at our own pace. This is a fantastic option for those looking for the same. The meeting point was central and the transport extremely comfortable. When we arrived at each camp our guide told us how best to see the camp and the booklet guide we were given was just as informative as a guide! The only negative thing I would have to say is we didn’t get shown the movie other people seem to have seen on the way as noted in their reviews but overall can highly recommend!
