Perfect Introduction to Bangkok History and Culture

The Best of Bangkok: Temples and Long Boat Tour with Lunch was the perfect tour for my first full day in the city. Ms. Aom was a wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable guide. Not only did she provide a personalized tour of all three major royal temple complexes, but she was full of information about the history of Thailand, the royal family, and the city of Bangkok. As a first-time visitor to the city, having a local guide to help navigate through the complex systems of transportation and commerce was comforting and educational. This tour provided a perfect mix of activities - from temples, to local food, to long-boat experiences on the Chao Phraya. Everything was well-organized and well-timed. I wouldn't change a thing. Highly recommend!

Places you see that you would never see on your own

This was a great experience. The guide was good. We went all around the little back streets of Bangkok, across the river, dodged traffic (all in the light rain) and it was fun. See the city at night like this was an experience. It is certainly not for the faint hearted (dodging the traffic) and you need to be confident on a bicycle, because there is no waiting around for anyone - or maybe the guide knew we were all capable riders. Dinner was also great. The only downside is, if you are staying in city it is a little out of the way to get to, but if you are staying on the river it would be a lot easier. You must meet them at the Sheraton on the River, they don't come and collect you from your hotel (or the MRT/BTS).

Our tour guide, Mhom, was very knowledgeable and also had and excellent sense of humour we enjoyed. The Palace and temples we visited were not crowded due to COVID-19 and lack of Chinese tourists so we were able to take lots of photos of the amazing sites. The Thai food lunch was delicious. The longtail boat ride took us past the tallest Buddha which is under construction. Sadly construction is being delayed due to no exports coming from China currently. Mhoma assisted with directions for our return to our hotel and even accompanied us there, which was a welcome surprise. All in all- 5/5 and highly recommend to other travellers.

The Guide (Ahm?!, sorry) was in time, the bikes wehre in good condition and fitted to our body size! Very importang if you go for a 5h ride! We definitely saw Bangkok from a total different perspective and it was also a little thrilling, We never thought to use a bike in Bangkok before. Anyhow thanks to the caretaking and responsible acting of the guide we have had always the feeling of bering save! Further more you get to see all the nice places without so many tourists (although you might not enter all temples as the close esrlyer). The streetfood was great and authentic. If you don‘t like this kind of food, tell the guide!

It was a good tour. Our guide, Mohr, was very good and courteous. We did finish in about half the time, and skipped the royal barge museum (she said we would only see outside), so in hindsight I think we could’ve taken more time at the grand palace and not rushed as much. But, as hot as it was, I’m not sure I would’ve lasted 7-8hours. She also seemed to know just the right spot for lunch and transport between!
