We had cold, rainy weather but the region is absolutely beautiful regardless. The boat driver was hilarious, the kind of story teller you'd imagine for Ireland, and helped make the best of the weather. He had great knowledge of the history of the tours and the area and was good at targeting information to the group. Our coordinator, Laura, was a bundle of positivity and helped make sure every aspect of our tour went smoothly. She was wonderful conversational and helpful with our tour. The jaunting car driver was short abrupt with commentary, and surprised my dad when he got kicked out to walk near the peak (they won't pressure the horses more than necessary and I had warned our group in advance that this was a possibility). Laura coordinated this part for us so the driver isn't part of their company, but it probably could have been a little better if he was more sociable or explained a bit on his own rather than when prompted. Overall, it was still a great tour and we'd recommend it!
Very well organized trip. Taken by minibus to Kate Kearny’s cottage by Kevin who gave lots of local info on the way. Walked through the Gap.. it took 2.5 hours of walking at good and steady pace (I’m in my 50s and fairly fit). The pony and traps were busy too and many passed by with happy passengers. The boat trip back through the lakes was so scenic and our boatman was so knowledgeable and funny .. met at Ross Castle by Kevin again and driven back to hotel .. this is a great trip , you need to decide if you want to walk the Gap or go through by horse and trap .. the weather was good and that helped .
My husband and I booked this fabulous tour of Killarney National Park the day before we went. An easy bus ride through flat parts of the park, followed by a fantastic jaunting car ride up and over the spectacular Gap of Dunloe, a pause for an Irish coffee and snack midway at Brandon’s Cottage, then a small, open boat ride across three lakes and two rivers, finally ending at our starting point at Ross Castle, a 15th Century tower house castle. An incredible way to see so much of the park. Definitely a highlight of our Ireland trip!
We enjoyed our Ring of Kerry Tour. It was so nice to not have to drive. Sean was a great driver, friendly and knowledgeable. The sheep dog program was awesome. I really want to give praise to Sean and Clare, I left my camera on the bus. They found it and were exceptionally helpful in getting my camera returned. I was so very grateful for their kindness in going above and beyond their responsibility in making sure I got my camera and photos from our vacation. Thank you so much!
We loved our adventure through the Dunloe Gap - O'Connor AutoTours was most accommodating getting us where we needed to be (we were late), the horse and trap 7-mile ride was great fun with friendly, competent driver, and the boat trip on the river and lakes back to Kilkenny was exhilarating - amusing pilot. A great way to see spectacular scenery. Highly recommend.
