Full description
Reconnect with nature as you cross the McGillycuddy Reeks mountain range. Travel along small country roads until you reach the starting point of your nature hike at Cronin's Yard. Listen to a short safety briefing and put on your hiking gear before you set off. Then, venture into the wilderness as your guide tells you all about the history of the area.

Hear how the mountains and valleys were formed, and learn about the native wildlife that thrives in the remote environment. Reach the iconic Carrauntoohil Cross at the top of the mountain in about 3 hours, depending on your pace. Break for lunch and to take in the expansive views.

Take some souvenir photos to prove that you made it to the highest point in Ireland. Then, start your descent back down the mountain to make use of the facilities at Cronin's Yard on arrival. Enjoy an invigorating shower and warm up with drinks around a roaring fire in the café.
