I can't recommend this trip enough. My young daughter was so excited to see an entire pride of lions cross the road just a few feet in front of us. As well as that, we were literally a metre away from an elephant. We saw whilte and black rhino, giraffes and an elusive cheetah! It was an unfoegettable trip. I lived in Africa years ago and took friens and family on many safaris, but never managed to see all of these in one day. Incredible. The tour guide was terrific, as was the driver to the park. The lunch was also fabulous. Definitely worth every penny. We may have been incredibly lucky, but we have amazing videos to keep. Thank you!
I really enjoyed the full day Pilanesberg safari. The pick-up at the hotel is very convenient and the drive at the park is full of great fun facts that our driver/guide provided. Lunch is also included with the fee; there were different great options from a grilled cheese sandwich to burgers - both with fries and a soft drink. I booked last minute and it all worked out well, no problems or confusions. I would really recommend it for anyone with short time in Joburg.
My wife and I had a wonderful day on this safari! We saw a lot of animals close up which was a magical experience. Our guide Alex Freire (from Unique Safaris) did his utmost best to show us as much as possible. He made us feel safe and comfortable and was very friendly and informative. He really gave us a lot of insight on the animals and the nature. We highly recommend him as a tour guide.
Unfortunately Afrika Tours (or a name almost like that...) that operates this tour cut us, for economics...the visits to the hienas and the leopards, buying tickets cheapers for a mini-safari; besides this, the guide was lost in the timeline and let us to Leisedi after the show, that took 2 hours, had begun (something around 20/25 minutes)...
This tour covered some major points of interest in Pretoria as well as Soweto and Johannesburg. Our guide John was knowledgeable and we enjoyed his commentary. His presentation of parts of South Africa's history was unbiased and objective given the complex nature of this country's past during the Apartheid era. We highly recommend this tour.
