What people are saying about Jimbaran
Our driver Wayan was absolutely awesome! Very prompt and helpful, always smiling and laughing. His happiness was super contagious! The temple is very impressive, and the grounds cover a lot. You can walk along the cliff with the best views of the ocean. There weren’t too many monkeys yesterday, so wasn’t a problem at all. The Kecak dance was definitely a highlight for us. Although we waited 45 minutes in our seats before the show, it was definitely worth it for a great spot, as it soon packed up extremely quickly! The dance was super interesting, and very unique. It’s so impressive that they can keep it up for almost an hour! It’s handy to have the information sheet too, as whilst watching the dance you can understand what each act is portraying, and really appreciate the story. Jimbaran Bay is a beautiful place to eat, and there was the cutest little Mariachi band on the beach too! However, keep in mind that there are only seafood options at the restaurants, no veggie dishes.
We found the temple, dance, and over all trip to be lovely. But next time there should be warning to customers and guests of these trips that they haven't got a choice over which restaurant they're eating at once they arrive at Jumbalia beach. We were very disappointed to be driven to one restaurant call the Blue Marlen. We had falsely believed we'd be driven to the beach and allowed to conduct and choose for ourselves. We were so upset we asked our driver simply to return us back to our hotel. We're here on holiday to enjoy the prices and comforts of a holiday. Not to be corned into one restaurant with prices higher than that of a German restaurant. The driver (not guide!) was fine, not great English or any German but I don't blame him for that. He did his job well as a driver and got us the tickets to the show early. We explored the Tempel on our own.
Fantastic experience! We got picked up by our lovely driver- Manikan who was polite and spoke English very well. The car was clean and air conditioned. It was a long drive there but we loved seeing the sights on the way. Once we arrived there where monkeys everywhere so we put our phones and sunglasses away as they like to grab what they can get their hands on. The temple was beautiful and right on the edge of the cliffs with safe fencing along it. It was very windy but a nice relief from the heat (I went in January). The views where extroadiary and very peaceful. The dances started at 6pm and it was a great cultural experience with beautiful costumes. I recommend getting there at least 5:30 and getting a good seat right at the front as it makes leaving easier at 7pm and beating the crowd of potentially of 1000. Great Balinese experience!
I spent an amazing afternoon. Everything was perfect from the piick until the drop off at the hotel. My driver, Komang gading, has been really kind, on time and made me discover some things like the tasting of coffee and tea on the way to the Uluwatu. The whole programme was really good, everything is made to not worry during the time dedicated for this activity. I had a nice massage in a wonderful spa. The coffee and tea tasting was proposed by Koman Gading and was a really good idea. Then the discovery of Uluwatu and the Kecak dance was a wonderful experiment. Unforgettable!
The view was superb! I love the by-the-cliff location of the temple and the traditional kecak and fire dance, but its always packed with tourists though. But i guess it all adds up to the charm of the place. Gede, our guide, was so accommodating and kind. He got us the best seat in the kecak performance that is right at the back of the singing men and took us to a good seafod restaurant in Jimbaran Bay. Great first half day tour
