Departed on time. The minibus-driver was a cool guy! We reached the Sea Level Point and the Judean Desert near Jericho, than we went to see the baptism site at Qasr El Yehund at the Jordan River (20 min). Afterwards we stopped at the Dead Sea for 1,5h, enough time to take a bath in the saltest sea on earth! Just amazing! We continued towards Jerusalem: we had a 3h tour visiting the Jaffa Gate, the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (where it wasn't enough time to stay in the 2 lines: Golgota-Jesus Tomb), the Cardo and Synagogue Hurva in the Jewish Quarter. We saw also the Panaorama of the Temple Mount (for a visit there you have to be in line for security approx. at 8am o'clock-this tour doesn't take you inside), the Western Wall and the Bazaar in the Old City. We had an expensive falafel lunch in Jerusalem. We departed for Bethlehem. In Bethlehem we were able to stay in line (1h) to visit and to pray at the place where Jesus was born + a visit to an expensive souvenir shop
All in all a great tour with a reliable tour guide and a good price-performance ratio. Highlights were of course the sunrise at Masada and Ein Gedi with it's animals and the waterfal. Things to mind: - The climb at Masada is really exhausting. The cable car starts at 8am,, so you have to walk. If your old or not that sporty, it is possible, that you are not in time in Masada for the sunrise. - We don't know why everybody's talking about the dead sea and how wonderful it is. You feel like a dead fish in (too) salty, oily, nearly boiling water. If you make the mistake to put finger in your eyes, you feeling the pains of your life and after 30 minutes lying at the "beach" (more like mud desert) you sweating like hell. You can say, that you were at the lowest point at the earth, maybe that's the experience. But, like I said: The tour was all in all a great adventure!
The tour starts early but that's understandable since there's a lot of territory to cover. I really enjoyed Jerusalem - a person could spend several days exploring the sights, but for a view of the highlights and historical/religious perspectives like I wanted, this was perfect. Bethlehem felt a little less structured and there was a fair amount of time spent trying to park the coach when I thought we could have been touring. Still, the Church of the Nativity was worth it. Finishing up at the Dead Sea was awesome and there was enough time to enjoy it and relax a little (i.e. get a drink or two) before the journey back to Tel Aviv. Good value.
excellent tour saw so much in the one full day we had in Israel t is however not for the faint hearted it is a long day and by its nature is quite rushed for us however this was fine as we wanted to see as much as possible in a short time period only aspect I would pick up on is the souvenir stop in Bethlehem way over priced in comparison to other outlets both in Jerusalem and the buss station in Bethlehem which we passed through but all I all an excellent programme and I would recommend it
Noam hat a lot knowledge and explained a lot about all kind of things! Best informed tour guide I’ve ever had! Tour was some time a little bit rushed because some attendants kept staying behind and we had to wait- even Noam keeps saying that they please stick to the group... you never know who you get in your group. Jerusalem and Bethlehem was amazing! More time at the dead sea would have been better. Food was okay. Place upstairs is better...maybe with more time and a menu to choose..
