What people are saying about Jatiluwih
We did the 2hr cycle in early June. This was just as harvesting of the rice had recently commenced. So the lush green paddies were not so lush or green. But this was more than compensated by being amongst the busy harvesting activities. The number of local people in the paddies in conjunction with some at-times narrow paths (plus really sensitive throttles on the electric bikes) made for challenging times. There were a few spills - no major injuries since harvested rice makes for a soft (& dry) landing. Only injuries were to our dignity. Word of warning though... The lunch provided is from a private house in the fields - not a restaurant. Apply your usual cautions when eating meat (here chicken satay) where you have some doubts about its providence My wife did, I didn't. BIG mistake. It tasted great at the time... But spooled what was otherwise a great day. Best bits = the people, the scenery, insights into traditional rice growing. Worst bits = supplied lunch (exercise caution).
The tour offers some of Balis most beautiful and amazing spots and thanks to our awesome guide Sintya it was an extraordinary experience. Though there is a lot of driving and heavy traffic along the way, it was really worth it! Sintya provided us lots of information concerning the sites, culture and modern Bali, so time just flew by. She made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the tour. Never had a guide that enthusiastic and passionate about her job! And if you look for the perfect picture -ask her, she knows the right spot! Thank you Sintya!
Our guide Tawan (sp?) was great, spoke perfect English and was really knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Bali in general from him, as well as these beautiful UNESCO sites. He drove safely and even got us everywhere ahead of schedule. I definitely recommend this tour. Really the only negative point is the distance between the locations -- it's quite a lot of transit time so be prepared to sit in the car for ~7 or so of the 10 hours it takes!
Great tour of some interesting and beautiful places. Great guide - friendly, knowledgeable and made the day very enjoyable - highly recommend him. Please be aware that there is a lot of driving (at least one hour between attractions) and the day is quite long.
We enjoyed a great day visiting the UNESCO sites with our guide Made. He was very informative and organised the day well, conscious of timings and traffic etc and we saw an amazing sunset at Tanah Lot temple. We would highly recommend!
