The trip totally worth the money paid for it. The overall journey was well organised, there were no unnecessary stops. We were picked up from the hotel in time. The guide (Burak) was really great and his explanations were quite informative. I would definitely recommend the excursion to any person interested in the World War I history. At least I got all the answers I had in my mind answered. Our main driver during the trip (Josh) was great and helpful guy as well. My only complaint concerns our driver on the way back to Istanbul (Ali) who was often using his mobile phone during the driving, which is not safe in my opinion.
Ayhan was super friendly and welcoming. We walked to different restaurants and ate/drank foods I had never experienced before- can’t say I would order them all again :) but it was a truly fantastic and authentic experience. The really neat thing was that Ayhan chose the restaurants in such a way that he literally gave us a cultural tour of the city as well. It was informative for the adults and entertaining for the teens. We liked it so much that we booked the off-the-beaten-track tour to the Asian side with him the next day. Would highly recommend that one, too!
Long day but very well worth it. Once we arrived to the peninsular we had a enjoyable lunch then we were split off to our Gallipoli tour withour guide. Burak (freelancer guide) was execptional - his knowledge and information to share was well understood. The aspect to consider this event from the Turkish perspective was really well done, yet he had compassion for both sides and shared the stories of both to really explain this historical event. No bad news here all good and I can only say thankyou to "Crowded House Tours" for a fantastic experience and day.
The only opportunity to visit the highest mountains in Turkey, around 2600m and the fantastic views. Mountain complicated and dangerous roads, mountain lift, ferry rides, northern Istanbul views and the best dining out of all tours. The ineffective last shopping center is expensive and there is no assortment of choice. terribly poorly prepared guides, very bad information in bad English. The final decision - to get to the mountains as high as possible this tour program can be recommended.
Visiting Gallipoli has long been something that I have wanted to do to pay homage to our Anzacs and to the Turkish soldiers who fought in this terrible battle. It was long day trip from Istanbul but our guide Burak (whom we met at Gallipoli) was a knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and passionate guide who added so much to the trip. Thank you.
