What people are saying about Husavik
Enjoyed our trip. The views are amazing even before you see the whale(s). We saw one humpback and it took half the trip to find that, as the previous day's sailings were cancelled so they were harder to track down. Yes it's bumpy and yes some people will be sick. Our main guide was very helpful, giving further info and advice on road conditions and how to travel safely. Captain was a little rude, pushing past me on his way up to his post but I wasn't going to get on his wrong side! Overall a good company, nice boats and yes I do much prefer the natural boats to the ribs. Cold enough on this type of boat (there's no indoors!) never mind about whizzing around on a rib! Wrap up warm and take the overalls they give you. You'll need them. Great to see these creatures in their natural habitat and with a responsible, environmentally-aware company.
The staff was friendly, the boat was clean, the trip wasn't too long or too short. We saw a humpback whale come up for air several times, and it decided to come up right next to our boat at one point. We also saw white-beaked dolphins and I saw a jelly fish. The hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls were a nice touch.
Enjoyed the trip. Seen dolphins, whales. Both captain and the guide were very knowledgeable and skilled. Seen puffins too, but make sure you have your own binoculars since they cannot be approached too close and they look like white dots on the clif otherwise :)
We had unbelievable weather and were very lucky to see a wale next to our boat up to 5 times. The two guides were biologist and gave us plenty of details about the Wales and the captain was also really accompanying the great mood on board! Totally amazing!
Previous booking was cancelled due to bad weather, but we could change the booking to a new date without any problems. Very kind staff. Hot chocolate was very nice! Saw a lot of whales!!
