Amazing walking tour with enthusiastic guide

Since we were but with 4 in total, Simon - our tour guide - had oceans of time to stop and explain every bit of mystery and history surrounding the Royal Mile. We wandered around town, strolling into hidden closes and discovering curious nooks, at a relaxed pace. The guide was able to provide us with plenty information and facts about the Mile and the city of Edinburgh itself, that you immediately feel like you'd lived there yourself for some time. Pity that he had to leave us at the Palace (since no guides are allowed inside), but even there he set us on our way with the audio-guides. In all a great experience, and would definitely recommend this organisation (and this tour)!

Classic Scottish Castle loaded with History

Holyrood House is the Queen’s official Palace in the Scottish capital. If visiting Edinburgh you should see the castle first, but this should be second on your list. The tour is logical and well organized. The audio guide is essential to get the most of the tour. The one criticism I have is that there is a plethora of interesting portraits and the audio guide could be much improved by offering more supplemental material about these portraits. If you have time (and the weather permits walk in the grounds too to see the Abbey ruins and take in the beauty of the park-like setting in the shadow of Arthur’s Seat the long extinct volcano.

Great old palace and gardens at the end of the Royal Mile.

The Holyrrodhouse palace and remains of the Abbey offer an easy display of the life of the Stuarts that can be seen at leisure. A stroll through the gardens is a must. Its location in the heart of Edinburgh and in front of the Scottish Parliament makes it easy to visit.

Awesome outing, Abbey & garden was the best

Great tour, palace very interesting, Abbey & the garden section was amazing, shame left to ruin, headphones explain everything, nice staff, rooms are musty & old, maybe if they ventilate every now & again, I have enhanced smell/borderline asthma

Great way to see the sights of Edinburgh

Well organised trip, free headphones to listen to the commentary. The top deck was partially covered but fortunately the weather was dry for us. Would recommend this trip for all ages.
