Full description
The official Hokkaido Rail Pass gives you unlimited full access to public transport networks throughout the northern island of Hokkaido. The Hokkaido rail network covers much of the island and features frequent departures in all seasons, space to store your luggage, and a selection of cabin upgrades at an additional cost.

You can switch from the train network to the local JR buses, with some exceptions, to reach more remote locations. You can also use your pass to get discounted rental cars and other services to complete your dream trip to the most remote lake or onsen.

After ordering your pass, an exchange voucher will be sent to you wherever you are in the world or sent to your accommodation or pre-arranged pick-up point in Japan. This voucher needs to be exchanged at a Hokkaido JR train station for your pass.
  • JR Hokkaido trains except for Shinkansen and South Hokkaido Railway
  • JR Hokkaido Bus local lines with some exceptions
  • JR Hokkaido Express Bus on the Sapporo-Otaru route
  • Free reservations
