Full description
Your tour of the gorgeous Maria Island National Park begins with a pickup from your hotel where you will head to Triabunna to catch the 9am ferry. Enjoy delicious treats and coffee on the ferry while learning about the history of the island. Hear tales of the Aboriginal people, about whaling cultures, convicts, of the industrial effects and wildlife sanctuary that exist today, all while surrounded by beautiful views of the Mercury Passage. Spend the morning walking to Fossil Cliffs on a 90-minute hike. Enjoy the views of Bishop and Clerk and capture snapshots of the local wildlife in their natural environment, including wombats!

After a morning of exploration, you will have earned a freshly prepared lunch inside a heritage-listed building that once processed convicts. All produce is locally sourced and represents Tasmania's world-class reputation for fine food. Afterwards, you walk to the vibrant Painted Cliffs. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent relaxing and enjoying some premium local wines cheeses, all while keeping an eye out for spotting more wildlife.
