What people are saying about Hessen
I printed out the voucher and redeemed it for the a Frankfurt Card the tourist information centre in the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), very close to the main entrance, as soon as I arrived at the Central Station by train. This way I could use the card immediately for the city transportation, which is all free if you have this card. You basically get your money back after 3 Bahn/bus rides, not to mention discounts to most of the city's tourist attractions. I'd recommend this card if you want to explore the city by public transportation and/or visit more than 2 museums. When I purchased this card online there's a glitch in the transaction, which cost me more money than I should have paid. Because that happened less than 24 hours before the card became valid, it was too late to cancel the transaction. I emailed the customer service. The problem was solved after 2-3 days and I got a refund.
We produced our paper voucher ticket to the attendant and she printed us the strip ticket. She directed us upstairs to the upper deck, but without giving us the brochure and headphones. Luckily, we had earphones we had from previous country's tours that we did . We then realised it was the Express Tour first that we did when we got on from Romer. When the tour completed back at Romer, the next Skyline Tour was due to start in 30 minutes. We walked around and got on later. It was a comprehensive tour, covering the opposite sides of the Express Tour. Enjoyed it.
Saw the Frankfurt Card on-line and purchased it. Loved the flexibility of hopping on/off the metro as often as I wanted while in town. Only two drawbacks: 1) I could have purchased it at the airport, but since I had a voucher, I had to exchange the voucher in town (required me to pay additional metro fare), 2) Would be nice to have the card valid for 24 hrs instead of only for a particular date .
It's useful to get transport card however there are very few places you can convert your voucher/coupon to an actual ticket. I was surprised that there is NOT tourism information desk at the Airport. Next time i may get a ticket localy as it will save me time looking around.
Great experience, you can use it as a taxi in frankfurt to jump from one area to another, the ticket is valid for 24 hours which is great and you can hop in and hop off as long as you want and I would suggest to pay the 3 euro extra to get the other line as well.
