  • Listen to live music from a neighborhood band in the Muraleando Community
  • Learn how a barber transformed the "Ugliest Street In Havana"
  • Enjoy a delicious traditional Cuban meal
Full description
Visit Barber's Alley in Old Havana, and learn how "Papito" used his success as a barber to transform an ugly street into a vibrant pedestrian alley, which highlights locals artists, small businesses, and restaurants. Papito opened a barber college there to help provide members of the community with a way to make a living, and has even been recognized by former US President Barack Obama for this community project.

You will transfer in a taxi or van to Fusterlandia, the magnificent mosaic Kingdom of Jose Fuster. Here you will discover how a renowned artist transformed his home into a Gaudi-inspired wonderland in order to bring hope and positivity to his community. The mosaic spreads beyond Fuster's house and out onto the rest of the neighborhood where there are now murals that pay homage to Cuba's socialist heroes, artists, and other Latin American countries, all created with the help of the whole community.

The last stop on the tour is to the community of Murealando, an art and wall mural community centered around a converted water tank in outer Havana. This community project was formed by artist Manuel Mario Diaz Baldrich, and provides a multitude of free arts education classes to the community, including classes in music, theater, crafts, and even opera. A local from the community will show you around and share interesting tales of colorful locals. Here there is great quality art for purchase and admire. You will then end the tour with a delicious traditional lunch and live music performance, before heading back to your meeting point.
