Good in general

The hop on and off bus personnel told me I can't use a mobile ticket. If I'm travelling, where am I supposed to find a printer to print the tickets? This highly discourages people from buying online. There was another operator who let me on the bus to go to main station to change my ticket into a paper form. This is such a hassle. Hence why I gave it a minus 1 star. I also found out later that it's cheaper to buy in person than to buy online. This highly discourages me to purchase online again for this tour. Despite that, going around town was good. I wish I did this on the first day I was here so that I know what was around town to explore further. Since I did it mid way, I already went to several places that the bus was stopping at. It wasn't as appealing. It is overall, a great method to see the city

A nice way to get to know the city

You can easily reach all important points of the city. The timetable is well packed and you get ahead quickly. On the way to the next stop you will be provided with interesting information. Since you can use the ticket throughout the day, you can also drive some sections several times and then always learns new details. It is not a boring audioguide tour but it is live, and thus always with other priorities, reported on the sights. Absolutely worthwhile, interesting and entertaining.

More Information Please

The Hop On Hop Off buses are always a great way to see a City. I enjoyed this trip as I had done a bit of research on Hamburg beforehand. The guide on board had plenty to say but unfortunately if you don't speak German, it means nothing to you. The Headphone information is very poor. Mainly music, it might tell you where you are occasionally but the information is very sparse. It should be updated to include a bit about every stop, or sight, or even a bit of historic information every now and again.
