What people are saying about Hall of Preserving Harmony
Our tickets were confirmed but we were later told that they were sold out, which was confusing, so they moved us to the afternoon and again *confirmed*. Then they said it was sold out again, moved us to the next morning, confirmed. At this point we were not sure if we were getting in at all but we did, all you have to bring is your passport, they have it in their system. The forbidden city itself was magnificent, I strongly suggest that you bring an umbrella for the sun. Rated good for the booking weirdness.
If we had installed wechat on your smartphones we could have easly booked tickes once we arrived at the forbidden city or just via cash. But to save time and since we were not able to forcast how many people would be around that specific day it was good to have the tickets booked beforehand to be on the save side not spending much time at the entrance but just showing our passports... Perfect deal!
We pre-booked tickets for the Forbidden City using Get Your Guide and were glad we did as when we turned up it was sold up. Entering was simple - we just showed our passports - and we skipped all queues. Inside the Forbidden City is huge and impressive. We really enjoyed exploring.
I have showed only my passport in the entrence. Passport number is your ticket. So it was great, very easy and quick. More challenging has been a tons of tourist, longer time to waiting in entrence line. But i can recommend to visit this city in this way to eveybody.
Having a ticket for a specific day and time gave us great flexibility. We just went to the entrance, showed our passports, and w were in! Easiest thing I have done in China!
