What people are saying about Hall of Preserving Harmony
This was awesome. Favorite tour I did while we were in Beijing. The walking aspect of it was great because we got to see so much more then we expected. Despite the other reviews we loved the foot massage and so did the other people in our group. The medicine shop was really cool. You do have to tip the people For the foot massage but in our eyes we saw nothing wrong with that like other people reviewing because you have the option to opt out if you don’t like it. Leo’s english was fabulous best English speaking tour guide we had while we were in Beijing. It was fluent English not broken English like most other tour guides we had. The only complaint was the pearl shop. Everyone just stood around and didn’t do anything if you don’t want to shop you’re forced to stay in there for 45 minutes. I wish the temple of heaven was longer we stayed at the pearl shop longer than the temple Of heaven. Overall it was a really great tour and we LOVED LEO!!
We had a small group of tourists during winter so it was a good size to move quickly and explore the highlights of each places. Vik was our guide, fluent in English. The Summer Palace was my favorite and I’m glad that Vik took us to the entrance near the iconic bridge. We were given 1 hour to explore. I would’ve wished it was at least 2 hours coz the land area was so huge. Lunch was good. The coach we used while it’s on time and clean enough, it had a strong smell of cigarette smoke in it. As indicated in the itinerary, there were 2 shopping stops for this tour.
It was a very long day (13+hrs), not helped by a massive traffic jam on the way home. We missed the tea house as a result. But Wilson was a great guide, kept us moving all day to pack everything in. Could have spent less time at Jade Factory and lunch and more at either Forbidden City or Great Wall but when you only have limited time, this ticks the boxes. The van is pretty cramped with 13 people in the back. Even the security guard at the Wall was surprised how many people were in the back!
Our guide Yoyo (with cute litte donkey flagpole) was not only great, she was very knowledgefull. History lessons was paired very well. Time was Forbidden as palace was huge with classical cultures while Summer seems beautiful in the lake. Local lunch was nice with its local flavors. Really wish those 2 commercial stops were removed as NONE like it as it really spoil the trip.
Super Cheap trip included with a delicious lunch. Able to see most of the big highlights in Beijing. Though, the tempo is high without much of explantion of the tour guide. Great if youre on a short time notice. Perhaps pick another tour if you want to spend more time at the locations and know more about the background.
