I bought our pass on-line about a fortnight before we left for New York with my 18 year old daughter. I got an e-mail in reply giving instructions on how to exchange the voucher for the pass when we got to New York. We exchanged ours at Ripleys but which you can do at several attractions in the city. We then had the choice of five out of the sixty odd attractions offered. We chose the Radio City Music Hall, Empire State building, Top of the Rock, The American Museum of Natural History and Ripley's Believe it or not. All were excellent and there were many others we would have liked to have done. New York is quite expensive and to have paid separately for entry would have cost far more than we paid for the pass. Well worth doing.
We started using our Smart Destinations pass right on our first day in New York City and it has paid off very well. It is particularly useful for seeing the large attractions, such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum or the Empire State Building, since you get to skip the lines and don't need to wait like everyone else. The Smart Destinations Card saved us around 100 US Dollars worth in admissions and at least (!) 6 hours waiting in visitor lines. Highly recommended!
This was a great option for being my first time visiting NY. It was a great price. It was odd that some of the choices were a free admission anyway or were not even open yet(WTC museum). We chose the Hop On/Hop Off bus for our transportation and the Explorer Pass for our admission and it was perfect for our short trip. Definitely want to go back!
die Fahrt zur Statut of Liberty. The tickets counter was not informed how handling the Sightseeing Flex pass. It toke us about one hour to get the right ticket and queuing/Organisation/Control was to long for this kind of sightseeing. All others Activities did work so well in comparison.
