Wonderful guide and poor office communication

The office didn't contact us as to the timing of the pickup till 2pm the previous day so we ended up calling them. Any email communication with Getyour guide takes a lifetime so bear this in mind. But that was the only problem. Our guide was Tony - SUPERB! The group together with us was 5 people so that was practically a private tour. We went to the Forbidden City, Tienammen, short stop at the jade factory (no pushing to buy), the Mutianyu part of the Wall (1 hour+ walk on it), looked at the Olympic stadium and the swimming complex, The Bell Tower and the Drum tower (the latter two from the outside). Tony was very informative and helpful throughout - especially as one of the people on the tour lost her bag with her passport and $ in the Forbidden City and he called the police which recovered it with everything in the bag intact. Great job! Lunch was excellent, too (about 5 various dishes). We travelled in a minivan like a local Chrysler Town and Country with a/c. Highly recommended!

The wall was amazing, the rest depends on one's interests

The tour went smooth - the guide spoke good english but was there more for explaining how the tour goes than to teach us the history of the surroundings (I mean she did it yeah, but too little info) - the driver had a tendency to honk too much but was ok - the jade factory was actually interesting but we stayed too long after the explanation (to allow people to shop, which no one did) - the ming tombs were disappointing (it is just an underground thing with metal webs on the ceiling so nothing falls on your head and almost nothing to see) - the lunch was great, lots of different dishes - the great wall was GREAT, reeeeally nice to walk along and climb to the higher watch towers, the views were amazing! I wish we had more time (we were given 2 hours starting from the restaurant which is close to the cable car, so that only 1,5hr is left at the wall). good shape is mandatory to reach the higher points in such a short time - the tea ceremony was a nice surprise, tasty and informative

Best to see the Great Wall for 1 hour only

Everything went well, the guide was good, lunch was good, the Great Wall was spectacular but we get to spend 1 hour only. Our group of 11 booked for Badaling but we were brought to Mutianyu. We didnt complain though but it's not a good thing. The worst part is the obligatory stop of this herbal medicine shop. The guide excites every one with a foot massage after the Great Wall climb. After a hot foot bath, these herbal doctors will tell you your health problems basing from your pulse, and hard sell you their products which could cost you over $1000. If you do not know how to politely decline, you might be convinced to buy. But be vigilant, do not be deceived. Tell them you need to consult your doctor first or you have to research about the product before you purchase anything.

I wish there was more time at the Great Wall

great day trip, good tour of the forbidden city, a jade factory, tea factory/chinese medicine place and the wall. However, the queue to get up to the wall in the cable car (also, cable car wasn't optional, we all had to pay for it) was at least 50 minutes plus 50 minutes down, we were given two hours so obviously we were late getting back to the bus and still only had max 30 mins on the wall. Tour guide was excellent though. Also, we weren't told the pick up time and location until 7.30pm the night before - perhaps give warning to your customers of when they will receive the message as we were a little worried that we had not heard anything.

Awesome tour guide and best and fast driver

The day was smooth and hassle free because of Mr. Happy. He was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and entertaining. Realize that I should have bargained more in the Jade factory and tea shops as they all sell the same knock of goods. Even with the over priced items we bought the trip was still worth it! It was my second time visiting Mutianyu, this was much better because of us taking this tour. Great job! Will definitely recommend you folks!
