What people are saying about Granada

Some beautiful sites, lots of ham, convenient service.

The mountain towns we visited were very beautiful, and I certainly would not have gotten to see them on my own. The tour of the ham factory was...interesting. It's nice to be served a traditional lunch, even if it is a bit heavy on the meat. Our guide was very helpful and friendly. The bus service is very convenient; it picks you up from a named hotel rather than one central meeting place for everyone. The scenery is a different side of this part of the country. That being said, there is nothing spectacular enough on the trip to warrant a fifth star. You will certainly enjoy getting to see the Andalucia region outside of the typical big cities, but if your time in the area is limited, spend your eight hours doing something else. This is a perfect Day Trip for those with a week or more in Granada.

Food, history and culture - what’s not to love!

I would highly recommend this tour if you are interested in food, history and culture. Molly, our guide, was warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgable. The tour is suitable for all ages as it stays within the central Granada area which is very flat. I took my 14 year old daughter and she loved the food along with the historic commentary from Molly. One highlight was visiting one of the oldest shops in Spain which sold beautiful nuts and dried fruit, we also loved tasting the award winning tapas! Finally, we even managed to bring some local produce home for my hubby who wasn’t able to make the trip! 10 out of 10 - thanks Molly!

A well organised, interesting trip at a sensible price

This is a long trip along a very scenic route which included many stops to see interesting local features, such as the historical development of bridges over a narrow gorge, drying of ham under mountain top conditions and a chance to sample them, famous high- iron spring waters in a beautiful site but a not so good taste! While the tour was multilingual this was not an issue - indeed the guide was entertaining and informative. The event concluded with an excellent meal included in the price and consisting of typical local produce. Pick-up and drop-off went smoothly although we returned later than planned.

Our guide Reyna and driver Manuel made the day special! Good pacing.

This tour exceeded expectations as far as timing, interest and choice of locations. The group, consisting of we two Americans, two Spaniards, Australian and British guests and two Japanese, seemed to come together as friends as the day progressed. The guide Reyna covered cultural, geographic and culinary topics equally well. We saw six of the Alpujarras villages with three major stops and several ‘pull outs’, and had a chance to unwind on the way home. We recommend this experience to other travelers with limited time in Granada.

really enjoyed it and wanna recommend to everyone

La Alpujarra was small but quiet and beautiful village. There were no famous historical places but i really enjoyed this day trip cuz I was getting tired of visiting so many museums and galleries, so I could be in a peace. Tour guide was good and qualified, kind... the one thing that I want to mention is... I joined English guided tour but when I arrived at the meeting point, realised that there are only 3 people who can use English in a tour group... so tour guide had to explain about all the things by both English and Spanish.
