What people are saying about Giza
We had our own car organised with a driver Akhmed who was great. Fayda explained a nice summary of Egyptian history as we went to our first location. At he different sites she explainned a lot very clearly and gave you great insight into how things were back in these times. Between locations we did go to a cotton papyrus and purfume place. Essentially these are for you to buy stuff but you can just have a friendly look around. The cotton place was just a shop so left pretty soon without any pressure. The papyrus paper place was nice as they showed us how to make the paper in a quick demo but again we didn’t want to buy anything so left. The perfume place only go if you might actually buy. They go into a lot of effort and it is great fun to try out the smells and the healing oils. Make sure you go inside the great pyramid! You can pay for a camel ride but I don’t think it was worth the money we paid. You can just walk, don’t believe what you are told.
It was a last minute decision and totally worth it! Mahmoud Anwar found my apartment (AirBnb) to pick me up even when the GPS. He was awesome and took all the iconic photos and videos I was hoping to get truly piece my trip the Egypt together. More importantly, it was the funnest time I've ever had on a quad! The views were breathtaking and to be hurling through the ancient sand was a priceless memory that I think about all the time. I will tell all my friends in America about Get Your Guide and the service Mahmoud Anwar and the staff provided! Thank you and I will see you again. Preferably with a bigger group!
Abd Elwahed gave us an excellent and private full day tour of the Giza Pyramids , Memphis , and Sakkara pyramid/ sites. It was well worth the money spent whuch was $49 usd for 2 ! I would highly recommend this tour.
When I signed up for this day I assumed that I was going to be with a group, but what a surprise...one on one...Fayda and I spent the entire day together. She filled my head and eyes with so many thoughts and visions. What a great day of walking in this historical time!
Visiting the great pyramid and going inside was a dream come true and unforgettable. As a solo female traveler I debated whether I should go with a guide or explore on my own. Going on the advice of other female solo travelers to Egypt I decided to book a guide. It was one of the smartest things I could have done. My guide Apo El Khir was a godsend. He is so knowledgeable, not only about the history of Egypt, but about practical matters. He knew the best time to visit the pyramids to avoid the fog, he knew how to make your way through the many vendors, how to get tickets inside the great pyramid, he knew all the best photo spots and did not mind being my photographer for the day. He actually really knows how to use a camera and the pictures I have from this experience I will treasure for a lifetime. If you book this tour you have to ask for him by name. He is funny, street and book smart, and completely professional. He really cares about his client and I’ve made a friend for life!
