Full description
Begin your route through the Roman Gerunda in the Plaza de la Independencia. Here, learn about the foundation of ancient Gerunda. After discovering the origins of the city, cross the Oñar River in the direction of the "call", the Jewish quarter of medieval times. Through this area lead once the Via Augusta, the longest Roman road in Hispania.

On your walk through the old town of Gerona, also pass by the Cathedral of Santa María. Nearby, see the Basilica of San Felix and discover its connection with the Roman past of the city. How did Gerunda protect the Romans? To answer this question, the next stop of your tour will be in Força Vella, the old fortress of the city.

During the Middle Ages the walls of Gerona were extended and there are currently several accessible sections. Walk through them and enjoy the views they offer. Finish the tour and return to the center of Gerona. On this tour discover the Roman character of the city!
