Full description
The Alhambra is Granada’s – and Europe’s – love letter to Moorish culture. Set against a backdrop of brooding Sierra Nevada peaks, this fortified palace complex was built as a walled citadel before becoming the opulent seat of Granada’s Nasrid emirs. Their showpiece palaces, the 14th-century Palacios Nazaríes, remain some of Europe's finest Islamic architecture and, together with the gorgeous Generalife gardens, form the Alhambra's great headline act.

Acquaint yourself with the history of Islamic influence in the Andalusian region of Spain and experience the grandeur of its legacy on this three hour, small group walking tour. Your guide will provide you with insight into the different areas of the government city and introduce you to the palaces of the Alhambra, including sites like Comares Tower, Patio de Los Leones, Mexuar, Generalife, etc.

After the tour, you can choose to visit the fortress or ‘Alkasbah’ structure before making the 10 minute walk through the forest to the town center. In town there are many options for food and refreshments as well as lively Moroccan ‘souq’ shopping streets tucked behind the more modern street fronts.
