Full description
Day 1
Depart from your hotel in Cape Town in the morning and head north via the Du Toit’s Kloof Mountain pass on your first leg of the journey.

Follow the R62, also known as the longest wine route in the world, through the beautiful towns of Robertson, Montagu, and Ladysmith, stopping for lunch and wine tasting along the way. Journey through Little Karoo where you can observe the scenery changing from lush greens to brown semi-desert areas, making this a day of surprises.

Arrive at your hotel in Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world, in the afternoon. Here ostriches are found in great numbers and the region produces the best feathers, leather products, and ostrich meat worldwide.

Pay a visit to the Cango Wildlife Ranch and learn more about the crocodiles, cheetahs, reptiles and other animals on site, with the chance to view cheetahs, tigers, lions, pumas, and jaguars.

Day 2
After breakfast, visit the world famous Cango Caves and enjoy a guided tour of the area.

From the caves, travel to a working ostrich farm at the other end of Oudtshoorn where you can take a tour of the premises and possibly even ride an ostrich. Learn more about the traditions and history of ostrich breeding in the area.

Afterward, cross the Outeniqua Mountains to Knysna. As you pass over the mountain range, keep an eye on the changing scenery in order to understand why the area is known as the Garden Route. Arrive at the Knysna Quays Hotel in Knysna in the evening, where you will be staying for the night.

Day 3
Today, visit Plettenberg Bay in the Knysna Heads and enjoy some leisure time on the waterfront where you will be able to do some shopping. After lunch, begin the journey back to Cape Town via Mosselbay, passing the rolling hills of Swellendam. Get back to your hotel in Cape Town at around 17:00 p.m., just in time for dinner.
