What people are saying about Fremantle
Plenty of good things to see, to learn and too wonder over. Voice of Capt and speaker system could be louder , especially if sitting near the throb of the engine det. . More speakers and bigger volume is my suggestion. Lunch was great and the crew were chirpy . Bus or trolley tour of Freo could have been longer and more stops . I would judge twice as long to cover all the points of interest and the incredible sights . Not being from WA , could you put a Peir 3 sign in big letters for booking in area pre cruise . Luckily one staff member asked me if I was lost and I was . So some bigger and strategic signage in amongst all the other several signs there now.
The driver, who had been born and bred in Fremantle, combined successfully facts with humour. The negatives are that the stated meeting point was incorrect. There was a small corflute sign. Not much bigger than an A4 sheet redirecting you to another location. Arrived at this point at 11:00 am but next pick up was 12:30pm. There were only three pick up drop times for the day. Way to infrequent in my opinion. But would still give ride seven out of ten.
Amazing tour. The captains of the boats gave very informative and fun. The tram tour was great and again we had a fun and informative driver. We stopped at the war memorial which was great. The lunch was beautiful and plentiful - lovely butter chicken and cannelloni with salads and bread. Nice cakes. Left the boat feeling happy an amazing way to spend half a day
Booking online was easy but GYG didn’t respond to my pick up request so i called Rottnest Express who suggested parking at Fremantle C Shed for $10 for all day which worked out well. The ferry was fine, the bikes were all quite old but it was great fun going round the island all day. Plenty to see and do. All in all a great day out and well worth it.
Only down side of the booking was that they forgot to pick us up at our hotel. They also didn't send us the Qrafter code for our return ferry ride. However, after running the streets of Perth down to the jetty, we made it just in time, and they let us on the return trip too. So those staff were friendly, even though the Office stuffed things up.
