What people are saying about Freeport, Bahamas
We weren't real sure about booking outside of the ship. This was our first time to the Bahamas. Brice took us to the far end of the Island giving us detailed history as we went. His partner that day (I've forgotten her name) was great. She cooked us a delicious lunch. The kayaking through the mangroves was beautiful. This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! We can't wait to do it again this summer!
One of the best tours I've ever taken, provided an intimate glimpse of life on Grand Bahama as well as a terrfic boat trip at the keys. Lovely swimming, fish, turtles, mangroves and a delicious lunch. Many thanks Brice!
Though Grand Bahama (Freeport/Lucaya) is no New Providence (Nassau), my wife and I were satisfied with the tour. Uncle was a knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide, with a sense of humour. We were picked up from the cruise ship port. We explored the island, receiving information about the history of the island. It was very informative and entertaining. It started through the local neighborhood then we had a nice photo stop at Pinder’s Point Lighthouse. We continued through residential areas of the south of the island and beyond, seeing a lot of the city, with an opportunity to buy souvenirs. We also rode by the commercial center of downtown Freeport, Millionaire's Row and the island castle, in addition seeing the grand piano design of international entertainer Count Basie's home and the suburb of Port Lucaya. I would highly recommend this tour, especially with Uncle as your guide (just don’t believe him when he tells you he is learning to play checkers – He is a good player!).
Better than excursions available from the cruise company. We had a great time, looking at the processes of bottling and canning. The samples were really nice, we liked all of them. The staff was friendly, informative, and I didn't feel rushed. The tour guide gave us a pleasant tour around the area with information we didn't know, although we've been there several times, and she was very friendly and seemed to enjoy what she's doing.
Staff was helpful, nice beach with great snorkeling. Unable to kayak due to weather and lunch was a burger that was BBQ at the snack bar.
