Full description
Begin your adventure with a trip in a 40-passenger capacity catamaran. Enjoy a colonial breakfast during the catamaran trip and behold the beautiful landscapes of the jungle. The boat navigates through a section of the Iguassu River where you can see the Tancredo Neves Bridge that unites Brazil and Argentina, and the Landmark of the Three Frontiers.
This branch of the Parana River is also dominated by the famous "Dorado" fish, also known as the "Tiger of the Parana". Enjoy the beautiful riverside scenery of rocks and vegetation native to the region.
Upon arrival at Puerto Bertoni on the Paraguayan bank of the river, your hike begins. The Moisés Santiago Bertoni Monument is part of an ecological corridor and has two interpretive trails: The Arroyo Bertoni Trail, which leads to the port and The Sendero Kuri`y Palmital, a trail where you can observe the native and exotic species introduced by Bertoni. First, you will hike through a forest trail (one of the magic moments of the excursion) that leads to the old Bertoni family house which has since been transformed into a museum.
The site houses ten rooms where you will see personal belongings of the greatest scientist and researcher in the history of Paraguay. Personal objects, family furnishings, hundreds of books edited by the Swiss scholar, machines, working objects and photographs are just some of the objects you will be able to examine on this tour.
