What people are saying about Florence

We did this tour in September 2020- it was my partner and I, plus two other couples. The instructions for meeting our guide were clear and it was easy to get the tram to the starting location. The guide was more a driver than a guide but was friendly and we felt safe with him driving the mini bus. We went to one beautiful traditional Tuscan winery (stopping on the way at a great viewpoint) where we sat in the wine cellar and tried 3 wines plus two balsamic vinegars, a couple of olive oils plus some cured meats and cheese. Our host for the tasting was very friendly and charasmatic, although with masks on it was a little hard to understand everything he said. We also had the chance to buy the produce afterwards but we did not feel pressures to do so. After the wine tasting, we visited the nearby village of Castellina and then Monteriggioni- the guide dropped us of and told us when to be back at the pick-up point. All in all we enjoyed this, and would recommend it to others.

We were the only 2 on this tour so they called to change or cancel - we upgraded to add on Siena - so pleased we did. It’s a long day and you start at 0830 at the coach station out of town ( very easy to get to on tram) then visit walled cities, Siena, Saint Gimignano and stayed for a great lunch of cheeses, ham, bread pasta and wines. The wine is very well explained and the lunch was excellent but you see none of the process or cellars, Which was disappointing. Never the less I would recommend the tour. The guide was great and lots of free time in each city.

Cinque Terre was simply mesmerizing. The guide on the way there was both driving and talking (not as loud), and was a bit harder to understand, but as the tour proceeded he showed up to be quite caring and respectful of the group pace and speed. Also quite friendly and never hesitated to explain anything at his reach. Really enjoyed it. Only part I didn't like was on the way back, had to climb the hill to the van by foot, under the heavy sun and sweating like crazy, but I understand that it was somewhat necessary.

I thought the whole set up was great, our tour guide was brilliant and he was able to conduct the entire tour in english. He was knowledgable around the subject, able to answer all questions which were thrown at him. The only benefit I can see from the current Covid situation is the fact that the museum has limited numbers, which allows you to get up close and personal with David and the other works. I would thoroughly recommend this tour, especially as it meant we missed the queue.

My daughter and I really enjoyed the visit by Lori, she spoke perfect English, her major is art hence got full knowledge and passion during the tour, even today my daughter still telling David and unfinished pieces story to her father, she loved Michelangelo a lots as the story elaborated by Lori is very interesting. Thanks Lori, what a wonderful lesson to learn from you❤️
