Full description
On this full-day trip you’ll travel north from Rome, crossing the green Tiber valley. You’ll pass by the slopes of the Apennines, covered with olive groves and vineyards, and through the famous Chianti region en route to Florence.

The legacy of the Medici family in Florence is linked with the splendor of works by renowned artists of the Italian Renaissance, such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli.

Meet your local guide across the Accademia Museum and begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to the Accademia, where you’ll have the opportunity to see some of Michelangelo's greatest works, including the masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture, David.

Your guide will then take you along the historical streets of Renaissance Florence until you reach the city’s religious center dominated by the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, topped by Brunelleschi's dome.

Other treasures to discover in the central square are the Baptistery and the famous Campanile or Bell Tower by Giotto. Walk with your guide along Via dei Calzaiuoli to the Piazza della Signoria, the center of political life in Florence.

This is the heart of Florence, an open-air museum surrounded by works of art from a number of historical eras. Learn about the buildings and statues that make this one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.

Enjoy a break for lunch at a typical Florentine restaurant before resuming your walk and making your way to Piazza Santa Croce, where great artists such as Michelangelo are buried.

Visit a leather shop and admire one of Florence’s traditional crafts. You’ll have some free time to see the work of local goldsmiths and other traditional craftsmen as well.

First of all our guide, Eleanora, during this trip to Florence was great, fantastic, knowledgeable and very smiling person. Globally the tour to the home city of Michaelange was instructive but I personally think organisers should improve the service (pick up and drop off) by mainly picking up clients living into the Aurelian walls, since it happens earlier in the morning

Beautiful city, enjoyed it very much!

Had a wonderful day! David was very impressive and so was the cathedral. Too bad that Michelangelos square is not in the tour. From there you have a beautiful view of the entire city. We ran there ourselves in the 50 minutes of free time and brought it back and forth. And had 15 minutes to enjoy the view. I would recommend it to anyone! Furthermore, nice tour, clear explanation. Food was good too.

Firenze simply amazing.

Our guide fell asleep from Rome to Firenze we thought (also some of our fellow travellers) thought she could have engaged more explain some of the cathedrals or areas we were passing plus nearing the destination announced we are xx mins from xx and go over the itinerary. BUT Tina our guide in and around Firenze was beautiful. So passionate most loveliest lady to meet. She made our experience of Firenze all that much better. We lost 2 of our group guys but they managed to find us at lunch. As for where we met our guide (who none of us could make out her name) then going to lunch was a trek and a half. The lunch was great. The group ALL got on. The bus ride back to Rome was in silence. Keeping a tour group interested and engaged is a skill which the guide may have to work on. She didnt want to he there. She asked for a tip for her and the driver. Giovanni John all 6'9" of him was excellent more approachable and deserved the tip more than the guide. Pity he wasnt the guide.
