Full description
After departing Florence at 8:00 AM you will arrive high above the Cinque Terre village of Manarola, where you will enter the National Park to hike to Corniglia. At the cliff top village of Corniglia, after the panoramic walk you have free time to relax and take-in the perfect view of the sea and surrounding hillside. After Corniglia, you'll continue towards the village of Vernazza, one of the prettiest and most characteristic of the towns. Here you'll have free time to sit in one of the cheerful bars and cafés, or even have a cooling swim in the sea. Continue the visit with a short train ride to Monterosso, the village renowned for its beautiful beach and artisan shops. Enjoy free time to taste the local wine, a refreshing swim in the sea or souvenir shopping. A boat ride (weather permitting) along the coast takes you to Riomaggiore, where we finish the walk along the famous path of Via dell'Amore, “Lover's Lane”, a walkway hanging above the sea.

Beautiful scenery...but bit off more than we expected

The online description did not adequately prepare us for the treacherous journey that awaited us. You should be prepared with wearing hiking/exercise clothes and hiking boots/sneakers. The trail is very rocky and uneven. Many large steps both up and down, with not much safety railing. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen. Given the tight timeline to get to each city, there wasn't very much time to explore the cities, shop or swim in the sea. If you want to do more of those things then you should visit cities individually and take train between each at your own leisure. The guides Levania and Alessandro were helpful, but it was difficult to keep up with them given the pace and large size of group.

It was way too long...we would have enjoyed it more if we had stopped at two to three towns instead of five. All of the towns were the same except the small difference in size. Thirteen hours was way too long for this tour!

This tour was breathtaking! Exhausting but so incredibly worth it and Alessandro was a great guide.
