The Chianti region is one of the most beautiful and famous areas of Tuscany. The region boasts many medieval castles and fortified settlements, many of which have been converted into world-renowned wineries.
Your first stop will be at either Castello della Panereta or Castello di Monsanto, where you will enjoy a visit to the cellars and receive a full explanation of the wines and other specialties that are produced on the estate. The wines typically include at least one Chianti Classico Regular, a Chianti Classico Reserve and the famous Super Tuscan.
Stop at a local restaurant for a light lunch consisting of a range of Tuscan specialties, including pasta, cold cuts, and cheeses.
Continue your Chianti tour in the afternoon with a visit to either Fattoria Montecchio or Castello dei Rampolla winery. Enjoy some more tastings of prestigious Chianti wines, then return to Florence through the serene Tuscan countryside.
