What people are saying about EYE Film Institute Netherlands
On our last day at Amsterdam, after storing our luggage in the lockers at Amsterdam Centraal train station, we took the free, fast, and frequent pedestrian ferry from Centraal Station to Buiksloterweg and visited A'DAM Lookout, early on a Friday morning. Despite the official opening time being 10:30, we got in earlier, which avoided the crowds and let us appreciate Amsterdam a nice elevation. As we had the premium tickets, we each got two drink vouchers, which we used at the bar, where the lift dropped us off. While there, you can have your photos taken in front of a green screen, which then allows your photos to be superimposed on different photos of Amsterdam, while looking like you're sitting or standing on a metal girder at a construction site. Note that getting high-resolution copies of these photos online, or printing them as you leave, can cost between €5.00 and €15.00. Also getting on the swings at the top of the building costs €5.00 a ticket.
The building and the view at sunset is really really great but two things where negative. There was nothing in the description that there would not be all the drinks included. We could only have softdrinks, wine, heineken beer or coffee. No cocktails, longdrinks or other local beers! The second negative thing was that we did not get two chips for the free drinks for the barkeeper. We went to the bar with the voucher and he said that they forgot to give us chips for the drinks so we had to go back...
The venue is brilliant - easy to get to and a brilliant atmosphere. See Amsterdam as you’ve never seen it before - complete 360 view from right is the centre of the city (well, almost the centre!) The only downside is the photos are quite expensive if you want to buy them.
Im so glad i saw this while researching for things to do in Amsterdam with kids. The kids loved it so much as much as the adults. The swing was a big hit for us as well. It's a must if you're doing a day trip and don't have a lot of time to explore this beautiful city.
This was a very enjoyable experience to see the whole of Amsterdam itself and also the North and beyond. Getting the free ferry from behind Centraal Station is also part of the fun, and getting the lift to the top floor of the tower not for the fainthearted.
