Everglades National Park Airboat Tour and Wildlife Show
- Duration: 1 hour
-Everglades Holiday Park, The park is currently under construction so it felt a little Tiger Kingy like when we arrived, but everything was very professional when you got a closer look -Airboat Ride, we had a great guide that spotted multiple gators for us and informed us about everything, he circled back so both sides of the boat saw the wildlife multiple times. Some other boats just sped along though, so your luck really just depends on your guide. -Gator show, was a little rushed. Only like 10 minutes long, only 2 tricks performed but pretty informative. -Bus, Our instructions said to meet at Soundscape park, so we took an Uber from Bayside Marketplace to Soundscape, only to be informed we were picking up the other half of our group from Bayside Marketplace. That wasn't an option when we booked our tour. The bus was cold like all the other reviews say. I'm pretty sure our bus driver left people behind since they weren't back to the bus in time. So pay attention to the time.
We went in the hottest part of the day not expecting to see any thing. Along the tour we spotted Blue Herron, Sea Turtles, Schools of different fish, many other kinds of birds and just as our tour was about to end we even seen an alligator. After our tour there was a reptile show. It was very educational. After the show we went over to an alligator statue to get pictures. While we were taking turns getting pictures a real life alligator came up behind us. I thanked God for the fence the Air Boat company had put in. They also have a small restaurant and souvenir store to take advantage of. All the people working were very polite and courteous. I plan on going back one day with my children.
Excellent company, Gator Airboat rides. Get your Guide had no mention of the name Gator Airboat in the voucher, description, or anywhere. Thankfully the meeting point address was correct. With many airboat ride companies in that area, it would have been nice to know which one we purchased from. Our guide in the boat was excellent. Jay was his name. Knowledgeable of the Everglades and creatures that live there. My wife did point out that we saw a few gators and Jay did say that two different gators were named Lillie, but we still had a good time and would recommend Gator Airboat rides.
This exceeded our expectations and our family had the best time on the airboat with our guide Robert. He was knowledgeable about the Everglades with a funny sense of humor. John did the alligator show shortly after the ride and he was also a laid back fellow with hands on experience with alligators and snakes of the area. Great time and a great price. The $ goes towards the upkeep and care of the animal species that are indigenous to the Everglades, so it’s a win win for all!
Enjoyed the experience overall. It started to rain 1/2 thru and all of the water accumulated as a small flood in the front lower area. Of course no one can control the weather but has anyone thought to add holes/vents to drain the water out of the sides of the bus? I was also curious if there is a route closer to see the beach?
