What people are saying about Etyek
Our host Margaret was amazing. She was friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable and kept our tour on track from one cellar to the next(we visited 3 including dinner). Perfect Saturday to get away from the city and see the countryside, small cellars and visit small wineries in the region. We highly recommend this tour, maybe add the chocolate tasting as well. Our Hungarian friend Sandor came along and was impressed with the Hungarian history and of course the quality of the wine. You can buy the wine as you tour(wine you can’t buy any where else). Unfortunately we were traveling light and couldn’t pack our suitcases with extra wine. However, Hungary does not import their wines so if you love the wine from this region bring an extra suitcase :) Good communication before the tour. We were a group of 7.
What a beautiful day ! We went to two wineries : one was modern and very impressive all the WINE we tried there was GREAT, it was very informative and comfortable ! The lunch in the second winery was GREAT! We had the best food we had during our whole stay in Budapest ! Gavor was an amazing host and cook ! We were in his home trying his WINE his mother's jam and we loved it ! We were all pretty jolly by the end of the morning ! Denes was an amazing guide full of anecdotes and WINE knowledge. I couldn't recommend this tour higher ! Full of warm, authentic people ! Beautiful wine and food ! Go go go !
We had a great time! The wine was fantastic, our guide Eszther was great, tought us about Hungarian history - both the wine history of the region and the overall history of the country. The lunch we had at the end was a simple bit very deliciuos home made meal prepared by the lady who owned the wineyard. I would definitely recommend this to everyone! An extra credit for Eszther for making this day great!
We just did the Etyek Wine Tour visiting boutique wineries, and we had wonderful time! Our guide was Thomas, and he was terrific. The owner of the winery, the winemaker himself greeted us and explained how he built up his business step by step. Food was excellent, home cooked roasted duck leg. This a great half day program when visiting Budapest, something really cozy and personal.
The trip was a memorable one. We were eight of us in that tour and the guide who gave us a brief history of the native land and its inhabitants made this trip a big difference. I very much recommend this tour to anyone. I can assure you will enjoy the wine and the cheese tasting. I hope to visit again during the grape harvesting season.
