The beach and island are beautiful but the travel time/time wasted is quite significant. You will be out for 12hrs but only 3-4hrs of this is actually at the beach. I'm not sure if its normal protocol but our trip was merged with another (balos bay) which meant we had to drop that trip at the port and pick up. This means that c5hrs of your day is spent on the bus. We stopped on the way at a tavern for bfast, this had a 200 step climb to a cave, if you wanted, beautiful views. Way back a traditional tavern for lunch, it was ok, nothing special and I'd have rather have had an extra hour at the island and lunch on the beach. The beach and island itself are beautiful. Im lucky to be well travelled and this is hands down the best beach I've seen in Europe. Its a little windy down there but otherwise, incredible. Our tour guide was really great, her knowledge of the drive and area was really good and she was super approachable.

The place is awesome! The guide Jelena was great! Many thanks to her professional approach, assistance and smile to everyone! Highly disappointed by getyourguide directions on the pickup spot. The map was wrong, the street that we needed to wait at was wrongly marked on the map sent. The bus had to come to look for us already having people inside. Sand was not as pinkish as expected but Jelena said it depends from year to year. Elos was on the way back, not ahead. It was great to eat in a local tavern and buy some great olive, shea, aloe, etc local high class cosmetics there. On the way ahead we visited a nice cave close to the road. The trip was various and nice. The road is a bit scary at times...has sharp curves and the road is high above canyon like hollows.

I absolutely recommend Elafonissi beach and I think that this is a must when you visit Crete. This tour helped me reach Elafonissi without a hassle as I don’t drive. Taking the public bus would have been an option but not sure where that drops us off. This tour drops you off right on the beach and the coach waits for you until it’s time to leave. Elena, our guide, was also very helpful giving us interesting facts about Crete. We had 4 hours to spend in the beach with a stopover for breakfast on the way. We started at 8am from central Chania and got back at around 19:30. I wish we could have spent more time in the beach as it is so beautiful. I was travelling solo and met a friend in this tour.

Really loved this small group excursion. Our tour guide, Barbara was excellent and gave us a fabulous hot tip to get the most out of the experience at the beach - you'll have to book to find out what it is! Very interesting stop for refreshments and an opportunity to explore a fabulous cave. Really enjoyed the authentic Greek cuisine on the way home. All on all, very well worth doing.

Tour to Elafonisi was amazing - enjoyed stay at the beach even more as it was not too crowded. 4 hours at the beach seem long but actually you would like to stay longer. The tour guide (Simona) provider a lot interesting insights about Crete. We had lunch at traditional Cretan restaurant specialized in meat (unfortunately not many seafood options).
