What people are saying about El Chalten

Overall it was a great trip. The guide was fantastic and gave great advice. But realize you are only paying for transportation to and from Mount Fitz Roy and a Baghdad lunch. There is nothing else included. There isn’t much to do in the town (but it is cute) so only go on this trip if you plan on hiking. They have a lot of trail options with amazing views! But I did think it was a bit expensive for just transportation.

The day is well timed but long. It allows you a choice of a short hike or a 8Km round trip with moderate to challenging track. The bus picks you up at your hotel or dwelling at about 9-9:30 am thence you travel the 220 Km to El Chaltén (with one stop) then arrive just after 12:30.pm The only downside is the lunch box provided - suggest yo get something more appealing and take it with you.

Wonderful trip. The journey there w interesting and our guide provided really interesting and engaging commentary. The town of El Chalten us lovely, the scenery spectacular and the hike was just taxing enough. Faultless experience.

Tour guide was incredible. But this tour is mostly a bus ride from El Calafate and back. I would strongly advise spending at least 1 or 2 nights in El Chalten, 1 day is not enough to see what the city and the trails have to offer.

Really great guide and scenary was stunning. Advisable to pack a full lunch and snacks, wear good hiking boots/shoes and bring insect repellant (and bite cream!) but this was a lovely day hike.
