Full description
After pickup from selected hotels in El Calafate, start your five-hour 4×4 expedition to 25 de Mayo Natural Reserve. This tour aims to educate and to open your senses, and is excellent for those who want to get a feel for the essence of Patagonia. A first stop is made to understand the landscape, the climate, and the steppe. The panoramic view of Argentino Lake will work as the backdrop for some hours. Once into the reserve, enjoy several stops to take photos of the local fauna, such us guanacos, choiques, foxes, and other animals. The reserve is located in the lands of an Estancia, a cattle establishment, between hills and streams where the earth shows the evolution of life and the changes of the land. Hiking offers the possibility to discover marine fossils, within which it is easy to see crabs, oyster reefs, and formations containing remains of mammal fossils. With binoculars and a camera, you're sure to leave with some amazing photos. Finally, enjoy a lunch or a dinner (depending on starting time chosen) in a traditional Patagonian house, with the heat of a fireplace and view of the valley.
