Full description
Immerse yourself in the incredible, colorful history of the musical genius Joseph Haydn and the festive culture and lifestyle of the Esterházy family. For over 40 years, Joseph Haydn served as the court conductor and composer for the Esterházy nobility. The famous maestro, "the father of the string quartet" and "virtuoso of ensembles," composed for exhibitions, operas, symphonies and chamber and house music, amongst these the legendary "Kaiserquartett," who first played in Eisenstadt in 1797.

Visit the "Haydn Explosive" exhibition; experience the life of this musical genius from his beginnings in Eisenstadt to his star turn in London. Discover his later works and his effects as a composer through multimedia stations, project installations and excellent exhibits. Admire the personal and business effects of the maestro and see some of his original instruments.

Then, visit the exhibition about the life of Princess Melinda Esterházy. Experience Melinda Esterházy the opera and her private life off the stage. Follow her life from novice to prima ballerina assoluta then to Princess. The exhibition takes place in five acts documenting the life of the last royal couple.

Experience a sensuous immersion into the royal festival culture and lifestyle and see the Esterházy "Majoratssilber" - the largest collection of Empire silverware in the world, made by the Viennese silversmith Würth - and the last remaining console table by the G. Briati (Venice) workshop. Take the chance to visit the Haydnsaal
