What people are saying about Edinburgh Old Town

Great old palace and gardens at the end of the Royal Mile.

The Holyrrodhouse palace and remains of the Abbey offer an easy display of the life of the Stuarts that can be seen at leisure. A stroll through the gardens is a must. Its location in the heart of Edinburgh and in front of the Scottish Parliament makes it easy to visit.

Jules our tour guide was amazing - knowledgable, enthusiastic

Jules was friendly and fun with the group including my 2 young children. She was fast enough paced to get it all done in an organised way but also considerate to the younger, slower walkers. Very interesting tour. One of my highlights of Edinburgh that I won’t forget. Thank you jules.

Full of interest, well organised and great for families.

We went here with our sons aged 16, 13, 11, and everyone really enjoyed this tour under the streets of Edinburgh. The guide was fun and enthusiastic and painted a vivid picture of life in ancient Edinburgh, warts and all! For me the highlight was the actual Mary King’s Close itself which was well enough preserved to be able to imagine it as one of Edinburgh’s main streets with bustling market and busy homes and businesses. The tour lasted about an hour and wasn’t cheap, but the guide was great and there was lots to see and learn so I would certainly recommend this tour to others.

Kirsty is an excellent, knowledgeable and engaging guide. Recommended.

Kirsty showed us the sights and took an interest in us and ensured we were kept safe from the traffic. She referenced many interesting stories that made me want to find out more about the city. It is difficult to try and pack in so much history in a short time but Kirsty did a great job and was happy to answer questions about items discussed and the city in general. Please pass on my appreciation.

Awesome, very informative and well worth it

Alistair was great in spite of having to contend with a particularly rude french couple
